It's getting very weird with these albums, mostly because Neil Norman seems to make great strides with being as close to the original as he can without being the original. Never is that more apparent than with the themes from 'Escape From The Planet Of The Apes', 'Stargate SG-1', 'The X-Files', and both 'Predator' films - they even had the original bongo player from the second film for this version. The synthesis of 'The Men in Black' theme with Will Smith's rap theme using only the backing female chorus works extremely well. Most odd, to some extent, was hearing a slightly jazzed up version of 'Babylon 5's main theme. I'm really only touching on a bit of everything here. With 28 tracks, of which only three aren't film or TV related, there really is something for everyone here.

There is also a rather excellent 16-page booklet of side-notes which fills in a lot of gaps, not to mention the connections, Neil Norman has with various composers which explains why so many original albums by these folks are coming out through Crescendo and that we'll be looking over in the coming month. These CDs might not be the originals themselves but they are certainly better than some make-overs on the market.
