Unless you've been living on another world, you will know that Season 10 was the last for 'Stargate SG-1' TV series. Which also means that this will likely to be the last volume documenting its seasonal episodes and mini-interviews with cast and crew. Well, unless the plan to do regular 90 minute films justifies another book.

It's ironic really that every season until this now was written as if it was going to be the last and when they thought that they'd get another green light, Sci-Fi Channel pulls the rug from under them. Saying that, it also sounds like the Stargate franchise is still going to continue with not only 'Atlantis' and the films but a third series. As this rate we could well see it overtaking that Trek programme for number of series.

In the meantime, you have this book which apart from the above also includes a few more colour photos than last time together with production designs spread over thirty-two pages. The book is informative on decisions made and the work put into a series which intends to have its budget shown on the screen. The two hundredth episode '200' is used for an in-depth examination of what went on in its creation. Its also nice to see the synopsises have grown to cover the whole episodes properly so making these books more useful as a reference tool.

If you're a 'Stargate' fan then you won't need to be sold on buying this book, mostly judging by the reprints of the earlier volumes, you'll be automatically adding to your collection now you know the book has come out. For those of you coming to the series late and waiting for the price of the seasons DVDs to drop, having this book ready to read in accompaniment. A no-lose situation.
