This edition of the 'Smallville Official Companion' has come out shortly after UK's Channel 4 has completed its run of Season Five. So while everything is still fresh in your memory, you can read this book and get a grasp of the behind-the-scenes info, what music tracks were used the episode guide, characters, etc which makes this an interesting reference for anyone interested in the series. There is also a hefty whack of photographs of the stars in both black and white and colour. In that regard, it's a shame that someone hadn't thought to include a photo of actress Camille Mitchell who played Sheriff Nancy Adams who gets bumped off in the episode 'Lockdown' considering she was a long term appearances in the series with her interview.

Much about the series is incorporated into the episode guide so it only seems like there is less in the way of special features at the back of the book. The episode 'Reckoning' gets an especially long examination of how it was created. I should also like to point out that the final page of the colour photo section shows stills from one of the super-special effects.

These books by Titan have become something of an institution and if you're a fan of 'Smallville' then it should be an automatic response to buy a copy of this book to add to your collection while waiting for action figures to be released.
