What a yummy title, especially if you're a witch by the name of Esmelia Sniff who draws children to her gingerbread house as a means to cook her favourite delicacy with her favourite ingredient. Sniff introduces you to various witches around the world, gives comment on what she thinks of them, not always favourable, before they tell you about themselves and their favourite recipes. I suspect this cookbook would bring a whole alternative but favourite 'F-Word' from chef Gordon Ramsay and would certainly learn some new techniques from these ladies.

I should point out this book's target audience is for a ten-year old reading group although I suspect the parents will take great delight buying this with a mild threat that they know what to do to their off-spring if they don't behave.

Actually, I suspect this book will be fun for all the family and providing your children don't get nervous at bed-time, gives the perfect opportunity to practice your various accents from Spanish and French to outright American giving truly gruesome methods for cooking children, warts or actually bunions and all. You'll also find new uses for lice and nits as well as caring for disabled frogs. Culinary delights and methods that will keep all children in line.

Colin Stimpson's artwork is bright and cheerful, even when you have the little darlings poking their eyes out of pies or frozen in an ice block to use later. Martin Howard under Esmelia Sniff's instructions has written a truly fun book and a real eye-opener, in more ways than one, to leave on your coffee table when you have guests for dinner and they've asked you to look after their children.

I should also point out that no dogs or cats were injured during the preparation of these meals and all frogs had suitable medical treatment.
