Shannon is looking forward to the long teaching-free summer, feeling sometimes that it's a losing battle with her students. She has good friends but she happy on her own, too. Seeking out some new stuff for her apartment, Shannon goes to a house sale. An odd bloodless man points her towards an odd vase which she is able to purchase for next to nothing but doesn't make it home.

Shannon is thrown between dimensions and finds she is now the Chosen of the Goddess. The real chosen one, Rhiannon, has forced the exchange so she can seek power on Earth. Luckily, Shannon finds she has allies in this new world. Her servant and close confidante knows about the swap and does everything she can to help Shannon settle in. It's rather a steep learning curve for a modern woman but the discovery that the temple has plumbing and red wine does a lot to help.

The big news for Shannon is that, due to a contract, she is about to be married to a centaur. It brings a whole new meaning to my little pony. What's a girl to do? Clanfintan is seriously handsome and the rest of him can be soothed by a curry comb. This is the ultimate hero for the horse-mad girl. Oh and this is one pony that wants his oats.

As a change from the more normal chick-lit this is a divine indulgence of every girl's fantasy. Food, wine without fear of calories must be a very good start along with endless perfumed baths with no water bills. The pony with the ability to shape-shift for the nuptials is a great plot convenience. This made me laugh but there is a serious plot as well which gives a little more edge to the story.

Overall, this is good fun and a nice change from the serious and anaemic vampire stories that have taken over the teen shelves. More please.
