‘Who do that voodoo that you do so well.’

‘The Voodoo Amulet’ is a romp from the home of kitsch and cardboard horror. Written by Mark Thomas Passmore, this audio features a reunion of the characters from his previous Big Finish audio, ‘Death Mask’.

Tony Petersen is a private investigator. He’s a good one but times are still hard and could do with a good client. He isn’t counting on that client being Cassandra Collins, otherwise known as Angelique, is the very long-lived witch, originally from Martinique. Previously entangled with Barnabas Collins who rejected her for Josette and was condemned to the realms of the undead, Angelique married Roger Collins in the guise of Cassandra but later fled after numerous affairs including one with Tony.

He thinks he’s free of her but she’s in trouble and Tony’s the only person to call. Trapped in a police station besieged by zombies, he thinks he might not take the case but could never resist a pretty face.

It seems Cassandra was trying to do a deal that went wrong leaving a person dead and Cassandra without her powers and then there’s the undead New Orleans style.

This is a great audio which really rolls along evoking a sense of place and situation with every word. It has an inherent sense of humour which works really well with Tony’s character. You don’t have to listen to ‘Death Mask’ first but I would recommend both of these audios as yet another aspect of the vast universe of ‘Dark Shadows’.
