With Season 2, 'Farscape' really flew into its own in the individuality stakes, testing many avenues of SF with nary a restart button. There is immediate progression throughout the stories with Crichton being haunted by Scorpius and a lot of mind games as the renegade crew of Moya just try to survive in the Uncharted Territories. This really was a series that took chances with what they could do, even to the point of changing Crais' loyalties firmly from the Peacekeepers and more to his own agenda and providing an even deadlier enemy in Scorpius. Looking at this season all over again, I was amazed at how the writers ensured that every key actor had something significant to do, including those who are left on Moya.

Choosing favourite episodes is really tough. More so, with two three-parters when the story was obviously large enough to spread out and give them the time they deserve. With 'Out Of Their Minds', the cast get to play each other for the first time with some interesting results. This is a nicely developed reality that really deserves some of your time if you haven't given a thought to do so in the past.

Of the extras, I love the profile sections which, unlike what I was expecting, which was just screen notes, was interviews with Gigi Edgley, Lani Tupi and Wayne Pygram of what they did in their parts. Of the commentaries, Claudia Black ('Crackers Don't Matter') explaining the decisions that actors have to bring to a role was most illuminating.

If you like TV SF that isn't afraid to live on the edge and judging by the reaction to 'The Peacekeeper Wars' there's a lot of you out there, don't forget to add this baby to your collection.
