V for Vendetta (Frank's take)
01/05/2006. Let's face it ... V could also stand for vivaciously inviting, Frank discovers. First-time director James McTeigue oversees this wondrous, eye-opening piece of pumped-up popcorn entertainment. In the stylish and roguish comic book thriller V for Vendetta, robust imagery and wildly drawn English-laden anarchy go hand-in-hand in this radical escapist spectacle.

V For Vendetta: Mark's Take
01/04/2006. Tyranny breeds groovy anarchy, finds Mark. A future Britain is ruled by a repressive right-wing totalitarian government. But it is about to be challenged by an anarchist swashbuckling hero in a Guy Fawkes mask. Alan Moore's graphic novel is adapted to the screen in a brash adventure. This film is a funhouse of political ideas, some of them intentionally repugnant. You may not entirely agree with the politics, but the film is darkly colourful and fun.

Vacancy (Frank's take)
01/07/2007. The film's generic title may be called Vacancy but it echoes that very same sentiment as well-there's nothing worth checking in for regarding this empty, half-hearted horror flick. Woefully tedious, unoriginal and cheaply executed, Vacancy is about as scary and random as a facelift procedure performed in downtown Beverly Hills. This flimsy fright fable is trivial and trite at best.

Vampire Blood and Egyptian Assassins
01/05/2002. Rod weighs in with some neck-biting action from the cult movie Blade II, and tops it off with a trip to see the Scorpion King too. Truly, he is the king of the bhucket-sized pop-corn.

Venom (Frank's Take)
01/10/2005. Venom is indeed a horror show but for other reasons entirely, says Frank. Considerably meagre and dubiously dull in its hair-raising high jinks, this brain-dead boofest of a movie is just another colourless creepy tale right off the conveyor belt of sluggish imagination.

Village Of The Damned/Children Of The Damned
