The movie 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow' is making the 35th Annual Comic-Con's day with a special appearance by Jude Law.
Giant 75-foot-tall robots will tower over the San Diego Convention Center as Paramount Pictures launches its forthcoming action/adventure, "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," at the 35th Annual Comic-Con International Convention.
Working with convention organizers, the studio will unveil a jaw-dropping first look at the groundbreaking live-action/CG film presented by the film's star, two-time Academy Award(R) nominee Jude Law, along with co-stars Bai Ling and Giovanni Ribisi, writer/director Kerry Conran and producers Jon Avnet and Marsha Oglesby.
"This is my first time at Comic-Con and I'm excited for sci-fi and comic book fans to have this special first look at 'Sky Captain,'" says Law. "I think this convention is the perfect venue to be presenting a film like this."
Also on hand to show never-before-seen footage of Paramount Pictures' irreverent "Team America World Police" will be Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Making cinematic history, the creative minds behind "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" now offer a potent mixture of explosive action/adventure and over-the-top satire about an international police force dedicated to maintaining global stability -- and they did it entirely with marionettes!
Paramount Pictures' presentation will take place on Saturday, July 24th from 3:00 - 4:30 PM in the convention center's 6000-seat Hall H. The annual event, which draws comic book and movie fans from around the world, takes place in San Diego from July 22 - 25.
Special footage and behind-the-scenes glimpses of Paramount's forthcoming titles will include "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," starring Jim Carrey as Count Olaf; E. Elias Merhige's "Suspect Zero," starring Aaron Eckhart, Sir Ben Kingsley and Carrie-Anne Moss; and "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," featuring the celebrity voices of Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Tambor and David Hasselhoff.
The largest convention of its kind in the United States, Comic-Con International is a comic book and multi-media event that features movies, comics, toys, games, Japanese animation and all things pop culture. Expected to exceed last year's turnout of over 70,000 people, the convention sprawls over a 450,000 square foot exhibit hall, and includes two floors of meeting rooms for seminars, panels and workshops.
