Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea to be remade as a new movie.
At least, so says the Financial Times of the acting world, Variety magazine.
According to them, the movie is coming back with more than a little touch of 'Alien' about it (sea-dwelling nasty is picked up, then causes mayhem on new supersub).
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea started out as a film, with the supersub Seaview, commanded by its mad creator Harriman Nelson, on a mission to save the world from a deadly radiation ring surrounding the globe.
In the fall of 1964, it became a long-running TV series with even more SF-like plots - you couldn't take dive without hitting wave after wave of aliens, atlantis decendents or mutants.
The new flick has Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni as producers - two lucky lads who also own the rights to The Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants and Lost in Space.
Let's hope the boys can do justice to such classic VthBotS episodes as 'The Terrible Leprechaun', 'The Lobster Man', and 'The Return of Blackbeard'.
