Small-press Earthling Publications is launching a new line of high-end books called the Earthling Modern Classics Series.
Each novel will be given a deluxe treatment featuring binding in full leather or a leather and cloth combination, quality endpapers (sometimes illustrated), a slipcase covered in cloth or handmade paper, and collectible print runs of 300-400 numbered copies and 15 lettered copies.
They'll often be loaded with original art, contain an introduction or afterword or both, and they'll be signed by the author and contributors. Because print runs may be as low as 300 copies for each title, 300 people at most will have the chance to acquire matching numbers for the entire series.
The first novel in this series is the recently-published KING RAT by China Mieville. The second book in this series will be Dan Simmons' SONG OF KALI later this year, followed by Glen Hirshberg's THE SNOWMAN'S CHILDREN early next year. A fourth novel in this series has been contracted.
Matching numbers will be offered directly through Earthling and through booksellers who choose to offer this service.
