Daydreaming, a science fiction art book by Slawek Wojtowicz, hits the streets.
According to artist Steve Hickman, 'Slawek Wojtowicz's art work has a dream quality that is effortless and as natural as breathing.'
Artist Donato Giancola added that "stepping into the worlds of Wojtowicz is an ecstatic pleasure as he melds the plausible with the fantastic."
"I nearly lost my eyesight in an accident when I was 15 years old, so my art work is a celebration of the wonderful gift of sight," Wojtowicz told the 'Nest. "I celebrate sight with my art, but my art or 'my daydreaming' also keeps me feeling alive and hopeful. I hope my book and its images will transport people into a dreamlike realm but at the same time deepen their perception of the universe and render a bright picture of what we will become."
Wojtowicz grew up in Gdansk, Poland, before immigrating to the United States in 1990. While in Poland, he was a member of the Science Fiction Club of Gdansk and the art director of Collaps, the Polish science fiction magazine.
Slawek has illustrated various books, book covers, CD covers, magazine covers, and Rifts Collectible Card Game. His art was also used in the 2003 movie, In the Neighborhood. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children, and works full-time as an oncologist in the pharmaceutical industry.
