Anne McNeil at Hachette, formerly Hodder, has just signed a deal with David Lee Stone, author of the Illmoor Chronicles series, for a new pirate fantasy novel, set to publish in October 2007.

The new book, entitled Davey Swag and the Blood of the Voodoo Ostrich, is described by the author as 'a comedy about a young pirate set in twisted and very weird version of the 17th Century.' David, whose 5th Illmoor novel, The Vanquish Vendetta, publishes on 20th July 2006, says that the new book will not interfere with his ongoing schedule. 'Illmoor 6 is already written,' he says, 'and will be published in January 2007. I'm already working on IC7'.

The Davey Swag deal was brokered by Stone's agents, Ed Victor Ltd.

David Lee Stone is 28 and lives in Ramsgate, Kent. Apart from writing books, he also works as a review columnist for SFX and Interzone, and is about to be sworn in as the new Secretary/Treasurer of the British Fantasy Society. He has also worked as an ambassador for the British Council in Bulgaria. He married in May 2006.
