Spanish science fiction for 2007

The Xatafi Cultural Association have announced the winners of the Xatafi-Cyberdark Fantastic Literature Award 2007 (the main Spanish sci-fi awards), for the best works of fantastic literature published the last year.

This year's jury was composed of Ignacio Illarregui Gárate, J. Fidel Insúa, Cristobal Pérez-Castejón, Juan Manuel Santiago, Javier Vidiella, Mariano Villarreal and Arturo Villarrubia.

Runners-up were:

- El sueño de la razón, by Juan Miguel Aguilera (Minotauro).
- Franco. Una historia alternativa, by Julián Díez (ed.) (Minotauro).
- Juglar, by Rafael Marín (Minotauro).

- Señores del Olimpo, by Javier Negrete (Minotauro).
- Jitanjáfora, by Sergio Parra (AJEC).]


- Kafka on the Shore, by Haruki Murakami (Tusquets).

Runners-up were:

- Axiomatic, by Greg Egan (AJEC).
- The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch (Alianza).
- River of Gods, by Ian McDonald (La Factoría).
- Cloud Atlas, by David Mitchell (Tropismos).
- New Dreams for Old, by Mike Resnick (Alianza).]

- Huerto de cruces, by Santiago Eximeno (Paura 3, Bibliópolis).

Runners-up were

- La fiebre azul, by Cristina Fernández Cubas (Parientes pobres del diablo, Tusquets).

- Arquitectura fascista, by Ramón Muñoz (Franco. Una historia alternativa, Minotauro).

- Mwalimu in the Squared Circle, by Mike Resnick (New Dreams for Old, Alianza).
- In the Group, by Robert Silverberg (Gigamesh nº 43, Gigamesh).
- Love Songs, by Banana Yoshimoto (Asleep, Tusquets).]


- Planeta-De Agostini, because of «Biblioteca de Ciencia Ficción», distributed in news-stands.

Runners-up were:

- La Biblioteca del Laberinto, because of the reissue of old books.

- Cátedra, because of Cuentos fantásticos de la España del realismo (Juan Molina Porras, ed.)

- Espasa-Calpe, because of the criticical edition of diferents books.
- Fundación José Antonio de Castro, because of Obras literarias en castellano, by Álvaro Cunqueiro.
- Valdemar, because of Danza Macabra, by Stephen King.]

The winners were announced during the AsturCon convention.
