Brad Pitt is set to make a sweeping new science fiction movie for Warner based on the classical Greek text The Iliad. Dude. Spoilers follow...

Brad Pitt will be 'Homer Alone' (groan), as he is getting together with George Miller - also due to make the Justice League film - as director to produce a version of The Odyssey set against a dark cyberpunk space opera background.

The real Odyssey of course covers exploits of Odysseus, who created the Trojan Horse scheme and then has a series of fantasy adventures to get back home, whereupon Odysseus kills the enemies who have putting the moves on his wife.

In this movie, Brad will be playing a genetically enhanced officer who is one of the survivors of a massive multi-species war. On the way home to Earth with his crew, Brad realises that humanity has been hoodwinked into the conflict under false pretences by a group of artificial intelligences with near god-like powers, and must make it back to his homeworld in time to stop a second war being provoked.

Hey, it'll have Brad in it. Add his Ocean's 11 co-star George Clooney as the AI's avatar representative and you've got two-for-two.
