Coming to a US city near you soon, Star Trek The Exhibition, a touring exhibition of Star Trek ships, sets, costumes and props from the five TV series and ten Trek films.

Star Trek The Exhibition will include the opportunity to ride in a full-motion Star Trek-based flight simulator and the chance for visitors to sit on a full-size USS Enterprise bridge from the original television series and detailed re-creations of other sets.

The exhibition will open June 21st 2008 at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park.

"We are thrilled to add Star Trek The Exhibition to our ever-growing roster of exhibitions," Bruce Eskowitz at Premier Exhibitions Inc. told SFcrowsnest. He added, "The universal appeal of these beloved television series and blockbuster films allows us the opportunity to bring an exclusive experience that will not only capture the imagination of visitors but allow each to turn fantasy into reality. We're taking families on a voyage through the history of the future."

"Star Trek The Exhibition is the ultimate voyage through a legendary piece of iconic history giving visitors a first-hand look at the scientific endeavors of the Enterprise crew," Jim Kidrick of the San Diego Air and Space Museum added. "We hope that this will inspire the next generation to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and motivate everyone to boldly go where no one has gone before."
