On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2008, Forbidden Planet science fiction stores around the UK will be throwing birthday parties as part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations. You're invited, trooper.

The first thirty people through their doors each day are promised a free goodie bag. Across both days the stores will be giving away treats and special items.

The chain will also be also launching their new range of Forbidden Planet products on the same day, aka merchandise with the ĎPeople Like Us Shop At Forbidden Planetí design on them, originally created by Brian Bolland. Said range includes, cups, badges, t-shirts and limited edition canvases of the design.

Was it really in 1978 that the Forbidden Planet opened itís first store in Londonís Denmark Street, it seems like only yesterday. Now, as well as the London Megastore, they have eight other stores located in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Coventry, Croydon, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton.
