John Jarrold guests at the Birmingham Science Fiction Group

John Jarrold is currently the literary agent for over forty authors and has also run three science fiction and fantasy imprints in the UK since 1988. Further to this he has also edited many well known SF and fantasy authors. As well as being a literary agent he also offers professional advice and editing to new SF and Fantasy authors.

John currently handles freelance editing for publishers including Hodder & Stoughton, Random House, HarperCollins, Pan Macmillan, Transworld, Simon & Schuster, Orion/Gollancz, Constable & Robinson and Time Warner. In the past John has run the Earthlight SF imprint for Simon & Schuster, as well as having been the Editorial Director for Legend books and the director of Orbit Books.

John will be visiting the Birmingham Science Fiction Group to talk about his wealth of experience editing SF and Fantasy. This will take place at the Briar Rose hotel, Bennetts Hill, Birmingham city centre, on Friday 8th May 2009 at 8pm (entry from 7.30pm). Price: 3 BSFG members, 4 non-members.
