The German and Spanish cover art is in for Stephen Hunt's second fantasy novel set in his Jackelian world. The Spanish art is an interesting twist on the fab UK covers by HarperCollins (as well designed as you'd expect from the same crew that do the Tolkien novels). The German art is a great Verne-ish submarine. But hey, they invented the u-boat, right?

It's always a fascinating insight into the local fantasy and sci-fi genre's readers to see how foreign publishers handle their localisation of cover art.

Here's the German one first. Franz Vohwinkel is the artist.





And here's the Spanish one. Haven't tracked down the artist yet, so we suspect it might be the Spanish publisher's in-house team.





They both look good, though, in their own way.
