Angel of Death is the new live-action series for, Sony Pictures's online video network, which stars Zoe Bell (Tarantino's Death Proof), Doug Jones (Hellboy), Vail Bloom (The Young and the Restless), and Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), among others. Angel of Death reunites Lucy Lawless, Ted Raimi, and Zo Bell who all worked together on Xena Warrior Princess. Bell was Lawless's stunt-double on the fantasy series. The series is created and written by comic book author Ed Brubaker who has worked on Captain America, Criminal, and Daredevil.

Angel of Death is about a remorseless assassin, Eve (Zoe Bell), employed by a ruthless crime family. After suffering a severe head trauma while on the job, she begins to hallucinate and becomes haunted by her victims. As a result of the injury, Eve is determined to make up for her past crimes by seeking revenge on those who ordered the hits in the first place - her mob employers.

In addition to Bell, the cast includes Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica) as Vera; Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth, 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer) as Dr. Rankin; Vail Bloom (The Young and the Restless) as Regina Downes; Ted Raimi (Xena: Warrior Princess) as Jed Norton; Brian Poth (CSI: Miami) as Graham; Justin Huen (Weeds) as Franklin; and Jake Abel (Cold Case) as Cameron Downes.

While developing the story about a cold-blooded killer growing a conscience, Brubaker's original idea for the series centered on a hitman afflicted with brain cancer. However, upon recalling a scene from a PBS documentary series - where a patient walked into the ER with a hunting knife stabbed right through his skull - Brubaker altered direction and drew inspiration from that real life event for Eve's head injury. AOD is Brubaker's first online series.

AOD is directed by Paul Etheredge (Buried Alive, Hellbent) and produced by John Norris (Buried Alive). The series is a White Rock Lake Production, which will be distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

White Rock Lake Productions is a joint venture from The Incredible Hulk and War of the Worlds' character-designer Aaron Sims and producer John Norris, with a mandate to create content through feature film, video games, television and new media outlets. In total, ten 8-10 minute episodes of Angel of Death will be available, and together with new footage, the series will be released in its entirety on DVD as a full length feature, after its online broadcast.

Angel of Death will premiere with three episodes Friday March 2nd 2009 on
