Kaleidoscope Entertainment and The Fremantle have announced that vampire Henry Fitzroy is returning to the movie screens in a new series based on the 'Smoke' books by Tanya Huff whose 'Blood' novels were turned into the series Blood Ties.
In the new series, Smoke & Mirrors, the sexy 474 year-old vampire heads west to where one of his graphic novels, 'Darkest Night', has been picked up as a television series with Henry on board as the creative consultant.
As Smoke & Mirrors begins, ‘Darkest Night' has started production of season two and Henry has a surprise visit from an old friend who needs his help.
Unable to turn her away, he convinces the show to hire her on as a PA. During the first episode, Henry's friend is flabbergasted to discover special talents and, as the episode ends, is presented with a netbook computer that doubles as a spell-book.
As these talents slowly begin to manifest over the course of the series, vampire Henry Fitzroy and his friend, now a Wizard in training, find themselves up to their eyeballs in demons, zombies, ghosts and other bump-in-the-night entities in their real world while the show's paranormal detectives, voluptuous vampire Antonia Dark and her teen heartthrob sidekick confront it in their fictional one.
"We are thrilled and very honoured to be working on a new series of books by Tanya Huff again. As a master of urban fantasy it is all there for us, not just the wonderful characters, the tension easing humour and the devious, supernatural plot twists, this time out we get an inside look at life on the set, tons of showbiz and genre clichés, and of course, the return of Henry!", Executive Producer Randy Zalken told SFcrowsnest.
"I'm delighted to be working once again with the great people at Kaleidoscope who did such an amazing job bringing the Vicki Nelson books to the screen. Henry Fitzroy couldn't be in better hands," added Huff.
Tanya Huff is the author of over twenty-five novels, including the Blood and Smoke novels, all published by DAW Books in the US and her native Canada, and she has been published in twelve languages.
