A tale of what's left of humanity fighting off alien invaders in the USA, Resistance Zero will have actor Noah Wyle appearing in the new science fiction series from DreamWorks, with Steven Spielberg producing. Resistance Zero will appear on TNT in an initial 10-episode run. Robert Rodat of Saving Private Ryan fame has been giving the job of lead writer for the series.

Resistance Zero (working title) starts shortly after aliens have exterminated most of the human population. ET is now rounding up the few people left, but they are met with fierce resistance from a ragtag group of civilians and soldiers who battle for their survival while struggling to hold on to their own humanity.

Noah Wyle - AKA heartthrob Doctor John Carter in ER - will play Tom Mason, an ex-college history professor who becomes the reluctant commander of one of the resistance cells.

Drew Roy is Hal and Maxim Knight is Matt, Noah Wyle's children (mom didn't make it). Jessy Schram plays Karen, a motorcycle scout for the resistance; and Seychelle Gabriel plays Lourdes, an orphaned teenager who helps out in the group's commissary. Also starring in the show will be Moon Bloodgood from Terminator Salvation, playing Anne Glass, a therapist who works with the traumatised kiddie survivors to help them adapt to their new status as being an endangered slave species.

Michael Wright, programming chief for TNT, noted, "This series has the potential to be one of the most exciting and provocative shows on television. It grabs your heart and mind from the start and doesn't let go. It combines personal human drama with dynamic action to create the kind of series people will be talking about the morning after. We are especially thrilled to be working once again with Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television, as well as Noah Wyle and the extremely talented cast of veterans and newcomers around him."
