Get ready for some French film-style steampunk adventures in the The Strange Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec. Based on the Franco-Belgian comic-strip adventures of a female reporter. Here's a trailer for Luc Besson's new movie.
This is actually being done in French by Luc Besson.
In the comics, If I remember, Adele is cryogenically frozen and wakes up decades later after world war one for some diesel punk adventures, having started out in her first adventures in the late Victorian/early Edwardian era.

I loved the original comics - I used them to learn French at school. Now, that's what I call a progressive education!
