The original Darth Vader, Dave Prowse, has he informs his fans, been given the cold shoulder by LucasFilm. He is no longer welcome at any official Star Wars events and even fan organisations he is patron of have been given the old heave-ho.
On his official web site, Dave complains, "I am not to be invited to C5 this year or any other Lucas Film associated events. After enquiring, the only thing I have been told is that I have "burnt too many bridges between Lucas Film and myself" - no other reason given."
He goes on to say, "I have also been advised by the promoter of Paris Manga in September that LFL have requested no photo opportunities with the 501 Squadron, even though I am commander in chief of the 501."
Too, bad, Dave, sent to the prison moon, have you been. But measured by the number of fan con appearances is not your 6'5 stature.
Do any of our many readers from Lucas Film have any official or unofficial comment to shed on this strange story?
Update: A reader who wishes to remain anonymous says that David complained a little too publicly about Hollywood accounting being used to declare Return of the Jedi as making no money.
