The Son of No One is an R-rated 2011 thriller movie based on Dito Montiel's book of the same name. A young cop (played by Channing Tatum) is assigned to a precinct in the tough New York neighbourhood where he grew up. But his life comes in danger when an anonymous tip-off informs him about the unsolved murder of two youths and a police cover-up.
Unusually, the screenplay was actually written by Dito Montiel as well.
Channing Tatum, Al Pacino (in flashback during the movie), Katie Holmes, Tracy Morgan and Juliette Binoche are the film's stars.
Maybe it's the presence of Al Pacino, but there's a definite Serpico vibe to this film. Which is a good thing. You'll be able to watch this in the States from November 2011, and in Europe shortly after.
