Getting items reviewed on the SFcrowsnest web site
The SFcrowsnest Review Program (SFRR) gives you the chance to get your items reviewed by SFcrowsnest reviewers - whether it be books, ebooks, movies, DVDs, toys, games or music.
Our reviews are independent, professional and unbiased. We aim to turn reviews around in 4 working weeks and they will appear on the SFcrowsnest.com web site, be featured in our monthly newsletter by e-mail, and run on the SFcrowsnest twitter and FaceBook pages. We accept items from everyone from large publishing and film companies, their PR agencies, through to small indie authors and movie makers.
Each item costs £300 to submit (use www.XE.net to see how much this is in other currencies).
To be accepted for review by us, the product concerned should be of interest to our international audience of fantasy, science fiction and horror fans.
Here's how the SFRR works
(1) You purchase a review using the buy now button at the bottom of this page.
(2) You will be contacted within two working days by one of our review co-ordinators, who will liase with you to ensure delivery of your product to the appropriate reviewer (usually in the UK). If it is a physical product, you will be asked to post it to a UK snail-mail address. If it is a digital product (ebook/music file), you will be asked to send it to an e-mail address.
(3) You will receive the review within 28 days of the reviewer having received your product to review. You can use the review on your product packaging, marketing collateral, book jacket, your web site, supplier web sites etc. You can also choose to include it in the next monthly issue of SFcrowsnest (if it is a positive review - if it's a negative review, you may elect not to). This will include running it on our SFcrowsnest.com web site, in our monthly e-mail newsletter, and on our SFcrowsnest.com Twitter and SFcrowsnest.com FaceBook feeds.
Main points to note
- No re-reviews or refund of the fee will be granted in the event of a unfavourable review. No revisions to the review can be suggested or accepted.
- Your review will be no less than 260 words in length but may be longer.
- We retain the right to reject the product being proposed before the review is written and refund the fee.
- While you can use the review, you can't add or alter words in the review (abstracting 'pull quotes' is fine, though).
- You cannot choose or specify the reviewer your product is sent to. This process is independent.
- No contact with the reviewer is allowed - either prior to writing the review or afterwards.
- Reviews are subjective and we cannot guarantee your product a favourable review - only an independent and honest one.
- You have to credit the review, where used, to SFcrowsnest.com
NB- Your payment details are taken and protected by PayPal, so we don't get to see your credit card details. Our review team will contact you at your e-mail of record with PayPal, so make sure it's up to date.
