Award for May 2002

To Infinity and Beyond.

You know that you've made it onto the British science fiction scene when crusty old Interzone - the only native print magazine for short SFF fiction in the UK - invites you to do a guest editorial.

Basically, this means an entire issue is made over in the guest team's image. Such a fate has been handed out to the March 2002 issue of the Hugo-winning SF magazine, Interzone, with said issue being guest-edited by the infinity plus team, with fiction, features and reviews from a selection of the site's own contributors.

Alas, such an honour has never been accorded to SFcrowsnest, but then perhaps wise old David Pringle doesn't fancy having his next issue sporting an SFX-style babe on the cover, and an issue packed full of dynamic space opera. He'd probably lose his Arts Council funding quicker than a star ship flipping into Warp Nine.

Well, no danger of that with the Infinity Plus on the case. In fact, if Interzone was a web site, it would probably be Infinity Plus.

Here's a quick run-down of some of the esteemed contributors to Interzone; no surprise that most of them are contributors to El Pringle's organ too.

If quality online fiction with a literary spin is your thing, then you could do far worse than surf on over to Infinity Plus.

We understand they have their own second print issue coming out some time in the near future (late 2002), siphoning off the best of their contributions to fuel the occasional dead tree issue.

Nice idea. Nice site. Hmmm. Nice.
