Choose a Santa Superhero
01/12/2000 Source: Jessica Martin

The Galactic Senate: polls & voting for December 2000.

Nothing gladdens our heart more than to see democracy in action in the science fiction and fantasy world. If you feel the same, dear user, then here's our current and past online polls, as voted for by many a fine fellow (you too can vote, but choose wisely) ...

Choose a Santa Superhero !
Here's the scenario, Santa Claus has died in a sled and run incident and a new Father Christmas must be nominated in time for Xmas. The Council of Elves has put fantasy heroes Batman and Captain America forward for the position - but who gets to wear the red suit? Only YOU can decide.

Batman. Xmas has been a happy and joyous occasion for 2000 years, so what the world needs now is a brooding DC-based dark knight Santa. Batman's utility belt contains many gadgets that would allow him to gain access to houses when leaving Xmas gifts. The enormous speed and range of vehicles such as the batmobile, batboat, batplane, batrocket etc would also prove very useful in keeping all the kids in Christmas materialism. Recoloring Bat's dark body armor a bright Santa red would cheer up Alfred too.

Captain America. What the world needs is an honorable Marvel superhero as Santa. Captain America is already in touch with the needs of the 21st century Santa, because he was the product of an early WWII genetic engineering experiment. His finely honed athletic skills would stand him in good stead while he was balancing on snow covered roof-tops, and his touching ability to engender loyalty in his followers would greatly boost productivity among the elf toymakers.
