Phenomena, Do Do Do-Do-Do
23/10/2003 Source: Jessica Martin

No, it's not a muppet song, it's Phenomena, a new magazine of real X-Files-style weirdness, which should give the Fortean Times a run for their money.

Mania Entertainment, the Yank crew behind movie title Cinescape, have just announced the launch of Phenomena Magazine and its accompanying web site over at www.phenomenamagazine.com.

Phenomena Magazine hugs the same alternative genre as the Fortean Times, and aims to bring together scientific research and Yeti-spotting oddness under one banner.

The title is led by Editor-in-Chief, Simon Cox, previously known for his work with various authors as well as his CD-Rom based magazine DUAT, launched in 2002.

Simon's team include Michael Baigent, co-author of the million selling, 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail'. Robert Temple, author of, 'The Sirius Mystery'. Nick Redfern, author of, 'Strange Secrets'. Richard Dolan, author of 'UFOs and the National Security State'. Randall Fitzgerald, author of the forthcoming, 'Lucky You!'

Other writers in issue one include, Robin Crookshank-Hilton, Alan Alford, Linda Moulton-Howe, Dr. Paula Baillie-Hamilton, Dr. Sam Parnia and Whitley Streiber.

Issue one of Phenomena Magazine will be available across US newsstands, distributed by Kable News. In the UK, Phenomena Magazine will be available via the COMAG distribution network. And of course, you can subscribe direct at www.phenomenamagazine.com.

Said site is being run by Greg Taylor and his Daily Grail team - and looks like a work of the same ASP-led complexity and depth as Cinescape.com (which is to say it's fairly flipping impressive).

For advertising, press coverage, potential interviews and creative submissions for the magazine and website, you can drop Simon a line at: simon@phenomenamagazine.com
