Oxford in Dredd
09/10/2003 Source: Jessica Martin

2000AD brings Dreddcon 4 to Oxford this December.

2000 AD has announced that Dreddcon 4 - their massive SF comic convention - will be held Saturday 6th December 2003 at the Oxford Union Society (St. Michael's Street, Oxford, UK).

Priced at just £2.50 per ticket, this has got to be one of the best value-for-money SF cons in the UK - and this fee will gain you entry to everything that happens during the day.

There will be lots to grab the attention of fans of the UK's longest-running science fiction comic, including various talks and panels featuring 2000 AD editors and creators, as well as signings and sketching sessions and the perennial portfolio sessions and Tharg's Pitchfest for would-be comic creators.

The dealer room will have an official 2000 AD merchandise stand and various third party merchants, with an artists area where a number of 2000 AD artists will be sketching and selling original artwork.

Big Finish (2000 AD audio dramas) and Mongoose Publishing (Dredd and Slaine RPGs) will be attending, and 2000AD should be able to confirm appearances and demonstrations from other companies producing 2000 AD licensed materials shortly.

Confirmed guests include:

- Brett Ewins (Bad Company, Rogue Trooper, Judge Dredd)

- Steve Yeowell (Zenith, Red Seas)

- Patrick Goddard (Judge Dredd, Middenface McNulty)

- Gordon Rennie (Necronauts, Storming Heaven, Judge Dredd)

- Steve Roberts (Bec & Kawl, Sinister Dexter)

- Dylan Teague (Judge Dredd, Judge Inaba)

- Jock (Lenny Zero, Tor Cyan, The Losers)

- Boo Cook (Asylum, A.B.C. Warriors)

- John Smith (Devlin Waugh, A Love Like Blood)

- Siku (Judge Dredd, Slaine)

- PJ Holden (Judge Dredd)

- Ian Edginton (The Red Seas, Leviathan, Scarlet Traces)

- Mike Carey (Thirteen, Carver Hale, Lucifer, Hellblazer)

- Paul Cornell (XTNCT, Pan-African Judges)

- Simon Davies (Sinister Dexter, Black Siddha)

- Rob Williams (Asylum, Family, Cla$$war)

The con will run 10.00am - 5.30pm, with student-cheap booze flowing at £1 a pint, with the con's bar staying open until 11.00pm.

Sounds like a plan!
