Interaction Gets Expensive 07/10/2003 . Source: Jessica Martin
The 63rd World Science Fiction Convention plans to stick up it rates. Interaction, the 63rd World Science Fiction Convention due to be held in sunny Scotland, will increase its attending membership rate on 1st December 2003 to £95 (US$155/145 Euros).
The child - 15 years and under - admission rate will remain at £32 (US$50/50 Euros) with infants six and under remaining free. This reflects their policy to encourage families and children of all ages to attend the convention.
The rate for a supporting membership also stays unchanged at £30 (US$45/45 Euros).
In addition, Interaction's pre-supporter discount will expire on 1st December 2003. This discount is currently worth £13 (US$20/20 Euros) and when combined with their current rates will bring a saving of £23 (US$40/30 Euros) compared to the new attending membership rate as of 1st December 2003.
They are therefore encouraging their remaining pre-supporters to convert before the expiry date.
Friends of the 'UK in 2005' bid will continue to benefit from the reduced supporting to attending conversion rate of £30 (US$45/45 Euros) compared to the standard rate for conversion, which will be £65 (US$110/100 Euros) from 1st December 2003.
Interaction Memberships are available for purchase at various conventions, through their web site or via snail-mail.
