The Games Constantine Plays 10/09/2003 . Source: Jessica Martin
Fantasy author Storm Constantine launches a Wraeththu-themed roleplaying game. 'Wraeththu from Enchantment to Fulfilment' is a new RPG due for release in 2004 from Immanion Press. The game will be the first use of their 'Storm - A System for Making Myths'-system, developed in-house.
The setting has been developed by science fiction and fantasy author Storm Constantine, with help from Gabriel Strange and Lydia Wood (Project Directors for the Wraeththu Mythos).
The game is planned to be published in full colour featuring artwork by illustrators Ruby, Anne Sudworth and Brom. As an aside, we've noticed a bit of trend recently for SFF illustrators to go all 'rockchick' and market their work using a single name. Perhaps I could set a trend for dirty journos and do the same? From now on I shall no longer be spoken off as Jessica Martin ... call me the writer known only as T'hack.
Anyway, the Wraeththu RPG Project intends to create a world covering various aspects of Wraeththu society, enabling players to select different game styles, such as dark horror, spy thriller, military campaign and generic adventuring etc.
Drawing on background material from the original Wraeththu novels, and new material written by Storm Constantine for her latest trilogy, 'Wraeththu from Enchantment to Fulfilment' should add more depth to her fantasy world.
The game is still in development, and a web site has been established for it over at http://www.immanionpress.wox.org/storm/
