Mercedes Lackey Update 02/07/2004 . Source: Jessica Martin
The SFF author behind Chrome Borne and Shadow of the Lion drops the Nest an update on her recent work. Mercedes kindly took a little time out from her schedule yesterday to update the 'Nest on the latest fruit of her labours.
Here's what she has to say:
"Well, I just finished PHOENYX AND ASHES which is the third DAW Elemental Masters book; set in and around the tiny town of Broom (real place; I spent a whole week there) in Warwickshire in the period of 1914-1917. It was exhausting to do; involved a lot of research into WWI.
All I can say about that is, Americans have no clue. Next on the agenda, SANCTUARY, the sequel to ALTA. Also working on MUSIC TO MY SORROW, the next Bedlam Bards book with Rosemary Edgehill. TO LIGHT A CANDLE with James Mallory, sequel to THE MOUNTAIN'S SHADOW is in editing/production right now.
THE WIZARD OF KARRES, the authorized sequel to the beloved THE WITCHES OF KARRES by the late James Schmitz with Eric Flint and Dave Freer should be out soon - it's an old-fashioned space-opera romp, with a space-going circus. BURNING WATER, my first Diana Tregarde book, is being re-released by Tor in trade paper size.
Also on the event horizon are THE WHITE APPARITION, a novel about Guinevere; three more "Fairy Tale" novels for the new imprint, Luna; THE WIZARD OF LONDON, a fourth Elemental Masters book; the third Obsidian book with Mallory, ELVENBRED with Andre Norton; MUCH FALL OF BLOOD, the next Heirs of Alexandria book with Eric Flint and Dave Freer."
It has to be said, Mercedes is one of the most prolific writers working in the genre today!
