Sci-Fi Channel Gets All Animated 25/02/2004 . Source: Jessica Martin
The Sci-Fi Channel are about to premiere their first home-brewed animated series, 'Tripping the Rift'. In a stranger than fiction moment over at the Sci-Fi Channel, the actor who plays Howard Stern's sidekick - 'Stuttering' John Melendez - is now going to lend his infamous voice to Sci-Fi's new animated series 'Tripping the Rift'.
Tripping The Rift will be the first home-brewed animated series to emerge from the channel's stable, joining the likes of Galactica and the Dune miniseries.
Melendez provides the voice of Bob, the agoraphobic starship's computer on the smuggling vessel Jupiter 42.
Taking orders from the stumpy purple alien Chode (voiced by Stephen Root), Bob is shackled with a crew of misfits that also include the sex-crazed android Six - voiced by Gina Gershon - and the sexually-confused first mate Gus - voiced by Maurice LaMarche.
For you U.S-types, 'Tripping the Rift' premieres Thursday, March 4th 2004 at 10.30 p.m. ET/PT over on the Sci-Fi Channel. Set your Tivo-type-things now, people.
