The Fantasy of Mary Jo 22/01/2004 . Source: Jessica Martin
Author Mary Jo Putney signs with Del Rey for two new romantic fantasy novels. New York Times bestselling romance author Mary Jo Putney (The Bartered Bride, One Perfect Rose, The Rake and the Reformer) has signed with Del Rey to write two romantic fantasy novels set in the "Guardians" universe she created for A Kiss of Fate (Ballantine Books, July 2004).
The Guardians are humans with mystical abilities that allow them to control nature's forces and to see into the hearts of others.
In the first of two linked novels set in 18th-century England, a Guardian mage must join forces with a young woman whose untrained magic can save their world.
The romantic fantasies will appear under the author name "M.J. Putney," and the author will continue to write for Ballantine as well.
