Sci-FI Talk becomes a Podcast 06/03/2005 . Source: Jessica Martin
Since September 2004, Podcasting has been the internet buzz word. It's an on demand way of listening to radio shows on IPods, Personal Computers and MP3 players. Call it the Tivo for radio. Using RSS (or really simple syndication), listeners can download shows and have them on their PC's for transfer to portable devices.
Thanks to Podcasting, listeners to the science fiction radio show Sci-Fi Talk can now request copies of current and old SFF shows to be downloaded to their PC to be heard on-the-go.
The radio program said it will still webcast on http://www.live365.com, though, along with their new on-demand alternative.
Tony Tellado over at Sci-FI Talk told the 'Nest: "This (podcasting) is an exciting growth opportunity with many possibilities as this new medium grows. Getting in on the ground floor is a solid move. Currently available are interviews with William Mapother, Christophe Beck and also a Gatecon preview with Andrew Jackson. More to come."
