Influx slays Hitchhiker's Guide
23/05/2005 Source: Jessica Martin

Influx, the debut novel from 2003 AntiSF Award winning author J.C. Jones, has toppled Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy off the no.1 spot at Fictionwise's Science-Fiction Best Seller list.

Silver Lake Publishing's novel "Influx" by J.C. Jones, recently topped the Science Fiction best seller list of the world's largest eBook seller Fictionwise, overtaking Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

"Influx is a rollicking near-future SF action story that starts and finishes with the sinister. The plot thumps along at an accelerating pace, promises a fusion closure, yet ends with something far more satisfying-- and even more sinister," said Ion Newcombe, Editor over at AntipodeanSF.

Winner of the 2003 AntiSF Award, J.C. Jones grew up in North Wales and resides in Brisbane, Australia with his wife and son. He has worked in a variety of technical roles in Information Technology for British, American and Australian companies.

His publication credits include Visions Magazine, Ragged Edge, Writer's Nook and Reader's Corner, AntipodeanSF, and Another Realm. One of his stories is to be included in the Whortleberry Press anthology "Cybertales: Live Wire."

An interview with the author is set to feature in "Australian Speculative Fiction: A Genre Overview," due for publication June 2005. Influx will be promoted through Fantastic Queensland at SF conventions around Australia and World Con in Glasgow, Scotland in August 2005.

Influx is distributed through Ingram, Fictionwise, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, direct from Silver Lake Publishing and many other online bookstores. Print version ISBN 1-93109593-0. Electronic version ISBN 1-931095-92-2

Silver Lake Publishing, founded in 1999, currently has 43 titles in print.
