British fantasy author David Gemmell is coming to Heffers in the Grafton Centre, Cambridge (UK) on Monday 5th September at 6.30pm. It will be a Q and A session with the chance to have your book(s) signed too. His new book is Troy: Lord of the Silver Bow, the start of a new historical series. David Gemmell has written 29 previous novels, yet Troy is the series he has always wanted to write.
He told SFcrowsnest, "The story of Troy has always fascinated me. The reason it has survived so long is that it resonates within every period of human history. The virtues that make us great as a species; love, compassion, loyalty and a capacity for selfless courage, intertwine with all the vices that make us appalling; hatred, greed, envy and blood hungry rage. What Troy teaches us is that we are all capable of heroism and villainy."
Tickets for the event are free, but limited, and can be obtained from Heffers in the Grafton Centre, via her email: sarah.whyley@heffers.co.uk
