H.G. Wells' The War Of The Worlds descends on Australia
and Japan 01/09/2005 . Source: Jessica Martin
As Tom Cruise's War Of The Worlds exits the theatres, the movie adaptation of the H.G. Wells classic novel produced by Pendragon Pictures, announces their director's cut. Buy The War Of The Worlds in the USA - or Buy The War Of The Worlds in the UK The never-before-seen Director's Cut features enhanced special effects, new scenes and faster pacing.
Director Timothy Hines told SFcrowsnest, "I had the opportunity to re-cut the film for the foreign release and subsequent U.S. distribution and I'm proud of the end result. Virtually every scene in the film has been reconceived and retimed from the original Summer release. It plays remarkably better. The critics who have seen it thus far have given the Director's Cut much more positive reviews than the summer release version. The original movie release is every moment from the book, and will inevitably be a collector's item as the Director's Cut will ultimately become the only version available."
The Director's Cut of H.G. Wells' The War Of The Worlds will not be available in the U.S., Canada and other select countries until late October. But it is now available in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan and South Africa in retail outlets and on the Internet through www.thewaroftheworldsmovie.net
