Allen Ashley in Brum

SF author Allen Ashley will be visiting the UK's Birmingham Science Fiction Group on Friday 4th November 2005 at 7.30pm. This will take place at the Britannia Hotel, New Street, Birmingham. Entry £3 members, £4 non-members.

Allen Ashley is the author of the novel "The Planet Suite" (TTA Press, 1997). His collection of short stories - "Somnambulists" (Elastic Press, 2004) was shortlisted for the British Fantasy Society Best Collection award.

His next collection "Urban Fantastic" is due from Crowswing Books in June 2006. Allen is also well known as a critic and commentator on the broad SF / fantasy / horror / slipstream genres, particulary through his column "The Dodo Has Landed" which appears in the magazine "The Third Alternative".

As well as writing, Allen has experience as an editor for "the Elastic Book Of Numbers" (Elastic Press, 2005).

Allen will be happy to answer any questions about writing, editing, juggling two careers, the current state of Britsih publishing, music, football, anything at all really.
