Ellison's dangerous vision for bookstore 10/03/2006 . Source: Jessica Martin
The 25-year old scifi bookstore once known as Dangerous Visions is seeking a new identity after SFF author Harlan Ellison reportedly threatened them with legal action through his lawyer. They are using the temp. URL of readsf.com until someone provides them with a better name. The 25-year old Dangerous Visions Bookstore reports online that Harlan Ellison has asked them, through his lawyer, to stop using the name Dangerous Visions for their bookstore - which was once a bricks and mortar science fiction store, but has been online-only since 2002.
The store have said they have complied with his wishes and are now asking you, the sci-fi loving public, for a replacement name. Until then, they are calling themselves readsf.com
Send them your recommendations and they will post the top ten picks on their site. The person who provides the best name will win a $50 gift certificate - good on any purchase. Name selection ends April 30th 2006.
Let them know via their (spam-protected) e-mail of bookseller(at)readsf.com
