Thief with No Shadow 21/06/2006 . Source: Jessica Martin
Emily Gee sells a new fantasy novel to US sci-fi imprint Solaris. THIEF WITH NO SHADOW is the debut novel from Emily Gee, a fantasy tale that follows the quest of Melke, a wraith girl, as she struggles to save her brother - and his captor from a terrifying curse. To do so she must journey into the heart of a salamander's den to retrieve an artefact she stole, and risk not only her own life but everything she holds dear.
THIEF WITH NO SHADOW is a dark, romantic epic in the vein of Mercedes Lackey and Anne Bishop.
Emily Gee was born in New Zealand, where she now works in the wine industry, having travelled extensively through Europe, China and the Middle East. She was the recipient of a New Zealand writer's award for romantic fiction and she is now working on her next book.
The deal for THIEF WITH NO SHADOW was concluded between Solaris commissioning editor Christian Dunn and literary agent Richard Curtis.
