Star Trek's 40th anniversary celebration to be held in Toronto, Canada. Buy Star Trek in the USA - or Buy Star Trek in the UK This July 2006, Toronto will host a Star Trek celebration. Formerly known as Toronto Trek, the event now simply called TT20 aims to be a mass celebration of science fiction, fantasy, and related genres, with a special focus on the 40th anniversary of Star Trek.
The event will feature several actors and authors, including George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek series; Garrett Wang, who played Ensign Kim in the 90s sequel series Voyager; and David Gerrold, who wrote the well-remembered Trouble With Tribbles episode in 1967.
Representing other series at the event will be Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1), Mira Furlan (Danielle Rousseau from Lost and Delenn from Babylon 5), Richard Hatch (Apollo on the classic Battlestar Galactica and Tom Zarek on the current remake of that series), Rob Shearman (writer of the popular Doctor Who episode Dalek), and several others.
Money raised at this event's charity auction will help support Ronald McDonald House.
Featuring autograph and question/answer sessions with the actors, TT20 will be held July 7th-9th, 2006, at Toronto's Doubletree International Plaza.
