This year's Sidewise Award nominations have been announced. The award, which has been been presented since 1995, recognizes excellence in alternate history. Two awards are given annually, one for long form works and one for short form works. The winners will be announced and awards presented at L.A.con IV, this year's worldcon, held in Anaheim from August 23rd-27th 2006.

The judges for the year 2005 include Nick Gevers, Karen Hellekson, Evelyn Leeper, Jim Rittenhouse, Stu Shiffman, Kurt Sidaway, and Steven Silver. Robert Schmunk participated in the initial readings but has announced his retirement from the panel after ten years of service. Robert was one of the original three judges.
