Pay no attention to the demons behind the curtain 06/07/2006 . Source: Jessica Martin
Zumaya Publications has announced the release of a collaboration between an American and a Russian writer, Lords of Terror, by Alan Cole and Nick Perumov. A thousand years in the future, the Cold War is alive and well, the two sides delicately balanced on the knife blade of war. But then an American cruise ship is exploded into atoms by a Russian battle station, the only survivors a ten-year-old boy and a foul-mouthed engine devil named Scratch.
Each side blames the other, and a millennium of suspicion and hatred doesn't allow for rational discussion. As pan-galactic war looms, a magic-hating policewoman joins in an unlikely alliance with two assassins-one American, one Russian-to learn the truth, which turns out to be nothing like what any of them imagined.
Zumaya will also publish Nick's newest book, the sword-and-sorcery novel Godsdoom, in spring 2007.
Zumaya Publications and its SF/F/H imprint Zumaya Otherworlds originated in Canada in 2000, and moved to Austin TX in 2006. Zumaya titles are available in trade paperback and ebook from Amazon and Fictionwise, and in a select group of bookstores.
