DragonCon resorts to slight of hand 25/08/2006 . Source: Jessica Martin
Scifi convention chooses magician Misty Lee to ramp up their magic. Guests of honor appear from thin air. Attendees' rings melt before their very eyes. People will shape-shift, and jaws will be dropping when Misty Lee appears at Dragon*Con Labor Day weekend.
Dragon*Con, America's largest popular arts convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, has teamed up with stage illusionist Misty Lee to celebrate their 20th anniversary and bring their guests a special treat: A Year of Magic.
Misty Lee, a magician who trained at the Magic Castle and was recently named "The hottest thing since cups and balls" by blogging.LA.com, will cast a spell on opening ceremonies with her unique brand of 'saucy sorcery'.
"They called and said, 'We need some spice'," winked the magician, whose Atlanta performances kick off a national tour, "so I'm going to heat things up with magic."
In addition to bewitching the Opening Ceremonies, Lee will work her wonders during both the Awards Banquet and the Closing Program. "I haven't been this excited about a Dragon*Con in years," said Convention Chair Pat Henry.
Misty Lee appears at Dragon*Con, a popular arts convention at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, from September 1st - 4th, 2006. Registration ranges from $25-$85, and is available both at the door and through Ticketmaster.com.
