The eighth annual Geffen awards will be presented at the Israeli SF and fantasy convention ICon2006, 9-14th October 2006 in sunny Tel Aviv. The award is given by the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and includes four categories (Translated SF book, Translated Fantasy Book, Original Book and Original Short Story). The award is named after the late Amos Geffen, a pioneering editor and translator who greatly contributed to Israeli SF fandom in its early years.
