Geffen nominees announced

The eighth annual Geffen awards will be presented at the Israeli SF and fantasy convention ICon2006, 9-14th October 2006 in sunny Tel Aviv.

The award is given by the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and includes four categories (Translated SF book, Translated Fantasy Book, Original Book and Original Short Story). The award is named after the late Amos Geffen, a pioneering editor and translator who greatly contributed to Israeli SF fandom in its early years.

And the final nominees for the 2006 Geffen awards are -

Translated SF Book category:

The Many-Colored Land by Julian May, translated by Yael Sela-Shapiro (Yanshuf Press)

The Shadow of the Giant by Orson Scott Card, translated by Rehavia Berman (Opus Press)

Spin by Robert Charles Wilson; translated by Didi Hanoch (Graf Press)

Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance, translated by Vered Tochterman (Odyssey Press)
