The 2006 Geffen Awards was presented October 12th 2006, in Tel Aviv during Icon 2006, the annual israeli SF convention. The convention's guest of honor, author Neil Gaiman, presented the award in the Best Original Short Story category. The award is given by the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and is named after Amos Geffen, an editor and translator who passed away in 1998.
The winners for this year are:
Best Translated Science Fiction Book: Spin / Robert Charles Wilson (Translator: Didi Chanoch, Graff Publishing).
Best Translated Fantasy Book: Anansi Boys / Neil Gaiman (Translator: Vered Tochterman, Opus Publishing).
Best Original Israeli SF/Fantasy Short Story: East of Eden / Hagai Averbuch (Appeared in the Israeli Society for SF&F Online Magazine).
