British SF writer Ian Sales has joined the John Jarrold Literary Agency. Ian has co-edited a small press science fiction magazine, The Lyre, with Nicholas Mahoney, containing original fiction by Gwyneth Jones, Peter F Hamilton, Keith Brooke and others. He has reviewed books for the British Science Fiction Association's critical journal, Vector, and is now writing a massive science fiction trilogy, AN AGE OF DISCORD .
In the tradition of DUNE and Kevin J Anderson's SAGA OF THE SEVEN SUNS, Sales' novels are galaxy-spanning, with political intrigue, space battles and personal feuds between families and power groupings. The first novel in the series is A PROSPECT OF WAR, a 190,000-word epic.
'Ian is working on final revisions to A PROSPECT OF WAR now,' said Jarrold,' and I'll be sending it out to publishers within the month. He writes with great dash and brio, tells a wonderful, epic story and has taken years to work out the background to his universe. He's even setting up an online encyclopedia to complement the trilogy!!'
