SFF novelist Chelsea Quinn Yarbro to be honoured in Italy Spring 2006. Buy Chelsea Quinn Yarbro in the USA - or Buy Chelsea Quinn Yarbro in the UK Novelist Chelsea Quinn Yarbro will be a Guest of Honor at the Italcon Convention in Fiuggi, Italy, March 23-26, 2006 to celebrate the publication of the Italian edition of THE PALACE.
Originally published in 1979 and set during the Italian Renaissance, THE PALACE is the second novel in Yarbro's acclaimed historical horror cycle featuring the vampire Count Saint-Germain. Yarbro's appearance is sponsored by the Italian publisher of THE PALACE, Gargoyle Books, who will publish the book in March with the title IL PALAZZO. Gargoyle reprinted the first Saint-Germain novel, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, in 2004 and has contracted to reprint seven more Saint-Germain novels over the next five years. In addition to the Italcon Convention - a regional convention with an emphasis on horror and fantasy literature - the city of Padua will be offering official tributes to Gargoyle Books. Padua will be dedicating an entire day to the celebration of high quality horror in conjunction with Yarbro's appearance. "I am honored and delighted to be participating in this celebration of horror literature," Chelsea Quinn Yarbro told SFcrowsnest.com. "It is a wonderful opportunity, one that I appreciate deeply." Yarbro's Count Saint-Germain series is the longest-running vampire series to date. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA was originally published in 1978 by St. Martin's Press. STATES OF GRACE, #18 in the series, was published in 2005 by Tor Books. The 19th, ROMAN DUSK, will be published by Tor this fall. Yarbro's agent, Irene Kraas of Kraas Literary Agency, is currently involved in contract negotiations with Tor for Saint-Germain #20. Chelsea Quinn Yarbro has received a number of awards and honors throughout her career, including the Grand Master Award from the World Horror Association in 2003.
